The impact of planning on developing the performance of the non-profit sector

Abstract

The aim of the research is to identify the impact of planning in developing the performance of some non-profit sector organizations. To achieve the research objectives, the researcher used the descriptive approach - the case study method - as one of the methods of the descriptive approach; Where the intentional sample was used in the research by selecting (3) organizations in the non-profit sector that represent a case study for this research, namely: The mother of Prince Thamer bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Foundation for the Teaching of the Book and the Sunnah, the Western Branch of Makkah Al-Mukarramah, the Al-Batoul Institute for Teaching Sharia Sciences and the Ittiwaa Voluntary Team of the Sakhaa Association in Jamoum Governorate. The research community consisted of all female employees and volunteers working in the research institutions. The total number of research individuals reached (125) female and male volunteers. The triangulation strategy was used in the selection of research tools; The questionnaire, interview and analysis of documents and literature were used, and the study reached a number of results, the most important of which are the following:

  • When the level of planning is increased by 100%, this leads to an increase in the level of performance development by 86.7%, and therefore there is a statistically significant effect of planning on developing performance
  • It is clear that there are statistically significant differences in the response of the study sample about the development of administrative performance that are attributed to the variable of the size of the organization and the differences are in favor of the small organizations, and there are differences attributed to the qualification variable and the differences are in favor of the one whose qualification is secondary to the one who is qualified for postgraduate studies.
  • The leaders and directors of organizations - the research sample - agreed on the existence of a positive impact of planning on the organization, and the most important effects are: clarity of tasks and responsibilities - organization of work - improvement in performance level - training and development of staff - improvement of the mental image of the organization.
  • Documents and literature indicate that there is progress and development at the level of implementation in the organizations of the case study in the research, and among the most important aspects that clarify the improvement of the organization’s performance after planning are the following: The presence of written and implemented goals in reality - The presence of an organizational structure appropriate to the reality of work - Clarity of tasks and responsibilities accurately - Submitting periodic reports showing the progress of work - High performance and achievement of female employees - Clarity of procedures, steps and work models - Improvement of financial and accounting performance - Development of financial resources - Increasing the number of beneficiaries - Quality of services provided.
