Abstract

Technical education and vocational training is one of the pillars of spatial development through its outputs, which represent one of the requirements of the labour market. Accordingly, this study dealt with the issue of population enrollment in technical education and vocational training in the southern and eastern governorates of Yemen, with the aim of revealing the geographical reality of technical education and vocational training and the number of the population enrolled in it during the period from 2000 to 2020 AD.

     The researcher used different methods in analysing the variables of this study which have been accompanied by maps and graphs with a focus on the spatial dimension of indicators of population enrollment in technical education and vocational training.

     The study concluded in a number of results, most of which indicate a little number of population enrollment, and there is a spatial variation in the indicators of population enrollment in such a kind of education because most of its institutions concentrated in some regions and not in others. This study ended in several recommendations that will hopefully contribute to correct the conditions of such education to allow a larger number of people to join it as it represents the nearest way to reduce poverty and unemployment that the southern and eastern governorates and Yemen in general suffer from.
